IEEE Region 10

The IEEE Region 10, also sometimes referred as the Asia Pacific Region, comprises of 58 Sections, 6 Councils, 30 Sub-sections, 663 Chapters, 60+ Affinity Groups and 1431 Student Branches. It covers a geographical area stretching from South Korea and Japan in the north-east to New Zealand in the south, and Pakistan in the west. IEEE Region 10 Congress

With the members spanning 165 countries of the globe, the Region 10 Congress gathers members of the Asia-Pacific Region together every two years to network, learn about the latest IEEE programs, and share strategies for enhancing membership. This is the biggest IEEE event for the students, young professionals, women in engineering (WIE) and life members in the region with ample opportunities to explore ideas, develop skills and discuss issues in their profession. The Region 10 Congress was first held in 2002 in Singapore, attracting 57 delegates. The event has since been held in Hong Kong (2004), Beijing (2005), Chennai (2007), Singapore(2009), Auckland, New Zealand (2011), Hyderabad (2013), Sri Lanka (2015) and Bangalore (2016).

IEEE Region 10 SYWL Congress 2018

IEEE Region 10 SYWL Congress 2018, which is the 10th installment of the regions’ Student/Young Professional/Women in Engineering/Life Member Congress will take place at the Prime Plaza Hotel, Sanur – Bali, Indonesia from 30th August to 2nd September 2018. The theme of this years’ SYWL Congress is “Collaborative Innovation for Society Development”. The prime objectives of the Congress will be to provide a platform for IEEE volunteers from different sections to network, interact and learn from other volunteers, train IEEE volunteers from different sections about IEEE activities, best practices, methodologies and to take back learnings from the Congress to implement in their sections, student branches, and affinity groups.

IEEE Region 10 SYWL Congress 2016

The IEEE Region 10 (R10) Student/Young Professional/ Women in Engineering/Life Member (SYWL) Congress held from 25 – 27 of August 2016 in Bangalore brought together different groups of IEEE members – students, Young Professionals, women and Life Members – under one roof. The meeting was organized by the IEEE Bangalore section and supported by the Delhi, Pune, Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad and Bangladesh sections as a part of the 50 years anniversary of IEEE Region 10. The meeting was attended by delegates of the R10 member countries including South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It integrated the youthful energy of the students and the wisdom of IEEE Life Members making the whole experience enriching for all the groups.

IEEE Region 10 SYWL Congress 2015

Sri Lanka will be the proud hosts of the congress in 2015. This year’s theme is ‘Today’s Youth for a Better Tomorrow’, which is a timely concept to be addressed through an international event of this scale, since youth can contribute significantly to the betterment of the future. Through the congress, we aspire to create an environment for all the delegates to ponder promising ideas inline with the theme using their knowledge and skills.
