The world is currently going through an epidemic of COVID-19 and as a result, the people are staying at home quarantine as per the instructions of the government. Keeping that in mind, IEEE AIUB Student Branch in collaboration with IEEE AIUB Student Branch WIE Affinity Group has successfully organized an online Article Writing Contest which was only for females on the topic- “Save the world from an Epidemic (COVID-19)“. The contest started from 31st March 2020, intending to enable the participants to know more about COVID-19 along with the ways to protecting themselves from it during this worldwide crisis and as well as boosting their skills of writing.
Initially the deadline of the contest was 7th April 2020, but due to enormous response from the participants the deadline was extended till 11th April 2020. A total of 60+ females from all over Bangladesh and 3 other foreign countries participated in this competition. Through their writing, participants explained their ideas on how social awareness can be created for preventing this deadly virus in order to save the human race from a massive loss. In addition, participants also shared their ideas by explaining their thoughts on the ways the world can overcome this crisis.
The judgments of the writings were made by some highly qualified and expert judges based on criteria which include- Creative ideas, Grammatical efficiency, Literacy on the topic and Relevance with facts. Based on these criteria, the top 3 write-ups provided by the participants achieved the “Best Articles” award and were presented with some exciting gifts and Certificate of Appreciation. The top 3 achievers along with their institutions are mentioned below-

The top 3 write-ups were published on the official website of the IEEE AIUB Student Branch. Moreover, all other participants were also provided with a Certificate of Participation for their enthusiastic engagement in the contest.
