On Tuesday, 11th October 2022, The IEEE AIUB Student Branch organized an all-day long event celebrating “IEEE Day 2022”. This event consisted of a workshop titled “A Medium Voltage Substation Design Maintaining Proper Standard,” organized by IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter in collaboration with IEEE AIUB Student Branch, followed by a seminar on “Protection in High Voltage Engineering,” an informative speech from dedicated personnel, a cultural event performed by AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC), and fun activities. This event aimed to bring all IEEE AIUB Student Branch members and supporters together to demonstrate how IEEE members in local communities collaborate on ideas that affect technology for a better tomorrow and contribute to making a difference.
Al Amin Hossain, Assistant Manager, Engineering and Design (Electrical), Reverie Power & Automation Engineering LTD, was the instructor of the workshop session on “A Medium Voltage Substation Design Maintaining Proper Standard.” There were detailed discussions about power systems, the working process of substations, outdoor and indoor components of a substation and their purpose, power triangle and load flow, load distribution, cost management, and so on. There was also a discussion on frequently asked questions at job interviews for Electrical Engineers. MD. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, Associate Professor, Head (Undergraduate Program), Department of COE, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB, delivered the ending speech of the workshop session. He thanked the instructor and talked about internship opportunities. The workshop session ended with MD. Saniat Rahman Zishan delivering the token of appreciation to the honourable instructor Al Amin Hossain.
