The IEEE AIUB Student Branch has successfully organized the orientation ceremony for the new members of the IEEE. The event took place from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Multipurpose Hall, D building, AIUB Campus. The objective of this event was to welcome the new members, volunteers, and the new executive committee for the year 2022 of the IEEE AIUB Student Branch.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, IEEE AIUB SB; gave the inaugural speech. He spoke about the IEEE, the history of the IEEE AIUB Student Branch, and its members there. He also discussed his experiences and aspirations for the IEEE AIUB Student Branch, as well as how a strong network can be developed and shared. Following his remarks, He received a token of appreciation from Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam, Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; and Dr. Abdul Mannan, Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch.

After which, Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam, Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; welcomed everyone and discussed about the IEEE AIUB Student Branch. Additionally, he explained how In contrast to a club, IEEE AIUB Student Branch offers opportunities and is a global organization. Afterward, he gave advice on how to conduct research and how to apply for scholarships. Then he welcomed to the stage Dr. M. Tanseer Ali, Associate Professor; Special Assistant, Capstone Project, Faculty of Engineering, American International University – Bangladesh; Chairperson, IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh 2022.

Dr. M. Tanseer Ali, Associate Professor, AIUB; emphasized communication skills development, the IEEE network, the professional network, and IEEE accomplishments. He discussed the advantages of IEEE membership and the professional world, as well as his expectations and suggestions for strengthening the IEEE AIUB Student Branch. Then, He received a token of appreciation from Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam, Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch.

The next speaker was Dr. Abdul Mannan, Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch. He extended a warm greeting to everyone there, spoke about the  IEEE AIUB Student Branch, IEEE leadership, and the value of forging relationships with one another, and shared his aspirations for the  IEEE AIUB Student Branch. Following that, a token of appreciation was presented to him by  Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam and Dr. M. Tanseer Ali.

 

In order to share his experiences with IEEE AIUB SB, Moin Uddin, Former chairperson, IEEE AIUB SB 2018; was then invited to the stage. He talked about IEEE outings, meetings, tours, and activities as well as his experience with IEEE from 2014 to 2018.

Following that, Kawshik Shikder, Motivator (2021), IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; was welcomed. He shared that he is departing to pursue higher education and he also discussed the advantages of the IEEE membership and its local organizations. Having followed that, Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam and Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering; Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB; spoke about Kawshik Shikder and invited all present faculty members of Faculty of Engineering, AIUB on stage, and gave him a token of appreciation from IEEE AIUB Student Branch and from Faculty of Engineering, AIUB as well.

Next, Md. Tauhid Rahman, Former Chairperson, IEEE AIUB SB 2019; shared his experience with IEEE AIUB SB and explained the importance of communication. He then asked everyone to visit the website of the IEEE AIUB Student Branch.

After that, the Executive Committee members of the IEEE AIUB Student Branch of 2021, were given the certificate of appreciation by Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam, Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; and then he invited MD. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Associate Professor, Head (Undergraduate Program), Department of COE, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; and Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering; Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB; to announce the new executive committee of IEEE AIUB Student Branch for the year of 2022. After that, Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam, Counselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; presented the token of appreciation to MD. Saniat Rahman Zishan and Chowdhury Akram Hossain.

Then, MD. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Chowdhury Akram Hossain, and Dr. M. Tanseer Ali presented the token of appreciation to Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam.

After that, MD. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; introduced the new IEEE AIUB Student Branch volunteers for the year 2022. A fantastic cultural event and photo session followed that. Lastly. The participants were then provided kits and meals.

The event was attended by 150+ attendees, including members as well as faculties, executives, and volunteers of the IEEE AIUB Student Branch.
