On 19th February 2020, IEEE AIUB Student Branch successfully organized an informative seminar titled “Higher Study in North America with GRE and TOEFL” in collaboration with IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh Section and Faculty of Engineering, AIUB. The seminar was conducted by Sanowar Hossain Shamim, GRE & TOEFL Instructor, American Center, Bangladesh; Founder, GREfly, Graduate Resources Enhancing Center (GREC).

The seminar was inaugurated by the opening remarks from Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique HossainDean, Faculty of Engineering (FE), AIUB; Advisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch, who discussed the importance of postgraduate degrees for a successful career. Also, he notified the participants about the importance of studying in North America as it offers the most dynamic and adaptable education system responsive to the needs of a vast, multicultural student community from all over the world. He concluded by discussing the indispensable roles of GRE & TOEFL examinations for procuring admission to overseas universities.

After that, the speaker Sanowar Hossain Shamim took the stage and initiated the session by discussing GRE and TOEFL examinations’ importance for those keen on acquiring higher studies abroad. Later, he talked about the examination structure and the elaborate discussion on various sections involved in GRE & TOEFL examinations, including the keys to succeeding them.  Besides, he spoke in detail about the necessity of good English writing, reading, and speaking skills to become a firm contender to any designated occupation. The speaker ended the discussion with an interactive Question-Answer session.
