On 20th June, 2019, IEEE AIUB Student Branch successfully organized the general meeting for the year 2019 at American International University-Bangladesh.

The meeting began by an introductory speech of Mashrur Sakib ChoyonEvent Designer, AIUB Student branch, who introduced the recent achievements of IEEE AIUB Student Branch and discussed about the purpose of the general meeting.

Later, Md. Tauhidur RahmanChairperson, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Design Coordinator, IEEE Region 10 SAC, took the stage and began his speech in which he explained about the IEEE Regional Structures and also about activities performed by IEEE worldwide. In addition, he briefly explained about the benefits of IEEE memberships and the facilities that IEEE provides to its members which include scholarships and funds for humanitarian projects all over the world. During his speech, he asked the members some simple questions regarding his presentation and attractive kits have been provided to the members who gave the correct answers. In addition to the questions asked, he also replied to some basic questions asked by the general members regarding future seminars and workshops. He portrayed his mission and vision towards future IEEE events and asked for the general member’s constant support. He concluded his speech by discussing the upcoming events to be organized by IEEE AIUB Student Branch.

Then, Moin UddinFormer Chairperson, IEEE AIUB Student Branch took the stage and started his speech by notifying the members about the importance of general meeting. He discussed about the usefulness of newsletter IEEE Spectrum and IEEE explore. Moreover he motivated the members for renewing IEEE memberships and also took feedbacks from the members regarding changes they think may encourage participants to attend more events.

After termination of the previous session, Dr. Md. Hasan ImamCounselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Education Activity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section Computer Society Chapter; Advisor, IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society AIUB Chapter; Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic EngineeringFaculty of Engineering, AIUB, gave a short speech which mainly focused on how to write a good IEEE standard research paper. He further discussed about the achievements of the IEEE AIUB Student Branch and also encouraged members to participate in other IEEE events held in other branches.

At the end of the meeting an interactive Question-Answer session took place where the members asked questions regarding the future plans of IEEE AIUB Student Branch as well as motivations behind the chapters and affinity group affiliated with IEEE AIUB Student Branch. In addition, for recording the member feedbacks a survey form have been provided to all members. The event was graced by the presence of Kawshik ShikderMotivator of IEEE AIUB Student Branch, Assistant Professor,  Faculty of Engineering, AIUB.
