Our Mission & Vision

Keeping in line with the first half of the IEEE tagline of "Advancing Technology ... ", we strive to develop core skills in all our members and provide them with access to the latest technical research and knowledge. We hope to empower them with the necessary tools for developing solutions to the major engineering problems faced in our community.

We are keen on addressing humanitarian challenges; fulfilling the last half of the IEEE tagline: "... For Humanity". Cultivating partnerships with charitable and philanthropic organizations, we engage in making a difference in the lives of others, support those in need, and encourage the youth to join the STEM fields.

Fostering collaboration and networking is vital to our ultimate goal. At IEEE AIUB Student Branch, we believe that the synergy created through cooperation and partnership, outweighs the merits of any personal accomplishment. We aspire to be both a platform and bridge; connecting students, professionals and researchers alike.

  • Sarang Shaikh; Founder, Humans of IEEE (HOIEEE) & Treasurer, IEEE Karachi Section

I have known IEEE people from AIUB SB since 2013. I have always seen this branch creating not just amazing IEEE volunteer/leaders but also great human beings. AIUB is not just a SB, its a process that takes an average student and shape them into a responsible citizen by creating interest for both engineering and community development. I have always been a fan, follower and a supporter to AIUB and I feel really honored when I happen to get chance to assist or guide them with any IEEE related decision. Wish AIUB and its amazing people all the very best for their personal and mutual endeavors.

Title: Seminar on "Past, Present and Future of AR & VR"
Event Date: 19th March, 2018
Time: 03:30 PM – 05:00 PM
Venue: Library, Annex 2, AIUB

***Registration Criteria: Open for all & no registration fees***

AR & VR are arguably the most defining technologies of the post-2010 world. Their applications have redefined and transformed everything from video games, robotics, space training, military simulation, medical training to even literature, architecture, archaeology, tourism, music, to even snapchat. Attempts to integrate AR & VR with AI are already underway, so far showing positive results.
From its humble origins back in the early 90s, AR & VR have gone a long way, partly due to the development of modern and stronger processors. What has primarily fueled this transformation, however, is the willingness of tech-savvy young researchers and entrepreneurs to venture into uncharted territories with unlimited passion, and the open-mindedness of bigger and more established industry leaders to entertain new ideas and innovations.
This does not mean that AR & VR is a easy-to-cash technology, however. Seemingly amazing products have failed to gain a market because the mass did not accept it for rather simple reasons. Coincidentally, products that would have seemed rather clunky and difficult to use have gone on to become consumer favorites.
So everything considered, the past, present, and future of AR & VR remains a hot topic of discussion for industry proponents and mass consumers.
